College Options Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the academic development of high school students and assisting them in their preparation for higher education.  We use academic competitions, college exam study guides, college admissions tutorials, and personalized counseling to aid thousands of students in achieving their dreams of attending college.  As an intern with this organization, you will manage projects, produce newsletters, travel, and organize events. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience in planning, marketing, fundraising, recruitment, and various other skill areas critical to the non-profit management professional.

Responsibilities

Increase key stakeholders’ and board of directors’ awareness of COF program goals, participant evaluations, and news updates.
  • Assist COF staff with Academic Bowls and Leadership Symposiums for high school students.
  • Establish relationships with colleges and universities for internships and refine procedures for securing interns in the Kansas City, Chicago, and Atlanta areas.
  • Secure funding for COF programs (e.g. distribution of College Success packages to assist students with college financing and admissions). 
  • Increase professional skills as outlined by American Humanics.
  • Successfully fulfill all internship course requirements set by COF and the academic institution.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Word 2007
    • Microsoft Power Point 2007
    • Microsoft Excel 2007
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Good writing and presentation skills
  • Must be attending an accredited college or university
