Shaunte Crawford, Army JROTC
A 2005 graduate of North Springs High School in Atlanta, Georgia, Shaunte was active in the JROTC program throughout all four years of high school. During her senior year she was promoted to the position of C/Colonel after serving in numerous other positions such as Battalion S-5, C/Major, Battalion S-3 and C/Lieutenant Colonel. Ms. Crawford served as the Battalion Commander and was chosen as Army JROTC Cadet of the Year for all JROTC programs in Fulton County, one of the largest school systems in the state of Georgia. Shaunte’s future goals include graduating from college and commissioning as an officer into the United States Army.

Meghan Froerer, Army JROTC
A 2004 graduate of Ogden High School in Ogden, Utah, Meghan served as the Army JROTC Cadet Battalion Commander during her senior year as well as the drill team commander for two years. She has received numerous awards such as Cadet of the Year, Best Drill Cadet, Most Outstanding Cadet Officer and is a three-time recipient of the National Superior Cadet Award. Ms. Froerer, a sophomore at Weber State University in Utah who has professional interests in both anesthesiology and military linguistics, is currently completing a volunteer service project in Russia teaching English.

Jonathan Houston, Army JROTC
Currently a junior in high school at North Springs High School in Atlanta, Georgia, Jonathan has been active in the Army JROTC program since his freshman year. JROTC leadership positions include serving as the assistant S-4 and as a platoon leader, and he is a member of the Spartan Battalion’s drill team and color guard. Cadet Houston has served as the class president for the Class of 2007 throughout his entire high school career as well as being involved in Student Council. Jonathan’s future goals include attending either Florida A&M University or Hampton University on an Army ROTC scholarship.

Kendall King, Air Force JROTC
A junior at TC Roberson High School in Asheville, North Carolina, Kendall attended Cadet Officer Leadership School at the Citadel when she was a first-year Air Force JROTC cadet. Cadet King was also selected to attend the Air Force Aerospace and Technology Honors Camp at the University of Oklahoma/Tinker AFB. She is active in Civil Air Patrol, enjoys anything to do with space or flying and is a graduate of the Aerospace Education Academy in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Space Academy in Huntsville, Alabama. Kendall is a varsity athlete in swimming and track and is very active in campus organizations as well as her local church youth group.

Robert Sweet, Air Force JROTC
Currently a junior at TC Roberson High School in Asheville, North Carolina, Robert is the First Sergeant of his Air Force JROTC unit. As First Sergeant he is in charge of discipline, military proficiency and promotions within the corps of cadets. Cadet Sweet is also a member of the unit’s drill team and is a two-time attendee of the Cadet Officer Leadership School at the Citadel. Robert volunteers in numerous service projects through JROTC and his church, excels in academics, enjoys football and is a varsity letterman in track.
